Course Overview
The structed cabling training is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the structured cabling systems design and implementation practices as per the current TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC and CENELEC telecommunications standards. The course stresses the importance of the standards and quality installation to provide a high-quality total solution for the end user. The training will also teach the students on the proper methods of installation and testing of the cabling systems.
This course is vendor-neutral and follows the latest standards published by ANSI/TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC and CENELEC and the guidelines from BICSI.

Class Room Session (2 days)

1) Industry overview
2) Basic concepts and terminology
3) Principles of transmission - Copper and Optical fiber
4) Structured Cabling Systems components
5) Networking Fundamentals
6) Telecommunications standards: ANSI/TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC and CENELEC
7) Electromagnetic Compatibility
8) Horizontal and backbone distribution systems: Pathways, Cabling
9) Telecommunications Rooms, Equipment Rooms, Entrance Facilities
10) Firestopping and Grounding, Bonding and Electrical Protection
11) Field Testing and troubleshooting
12) Installation practices and recommendations
13) Design Exercises

Hands-on Session (1 day)
1) Demonstration of termination and testing: a) Copper terminations b) Copper testing
2) Termination of copper cabling
3) Testing of copper cabling

Written Exam
